A visit to Coombe Hill in Buckinghamshire, near Wendover

A War memorial was erected, and unveiled on Coombe Hill, near
Wendover in 1904, in memory of the men from Buckinghamshire who had died
in the Boer War. Standing some 257m (843ft) above sea level (about 3m
lower than the summit of the hill) on the edge of steep escarpment, it
can be seen from a great distance, and a hint of the excellent panoramic
view can be seen from this photo.
