The Wrekin
7 May 2004
While Lucy and Henry were at the Birmingham show at the Staffordshire
Showground,
Stephen and George went for a
walk up and around The Wrekin, the last outpost of the Shropshire hills, looking
out over the plain to the north.

Three manmade structures point to the sky from the summit ridge
After visiting the top, we headed west
George was determined to climb this rocky outcrop, and virtually dragged Stephen
up too!

After a steep descent to the west, we walked along the very pleasant contouring
path around the sound side of the hill

Beautiful bluebells, and time to head back to the car and the rest of the
journey north to the Lake District
