River Stort
9 April 2005
A walk from Harlow Town station to Roydon station along the River Stort
navigation in Essex
Parndon Mill is a delightful location
Parndon Lock and George on the (dry) overflow weir
Some of the many canoeists we saw, the only boats on the move this morning
A towpath bridge
Just above Hunsdon Mill Lock: the busy A414 dual carriageway runs just behind
the bushes on the right
A lovely bit of towpath, almost encased in vegetation: the river is to the
right. This towpath is vastly quieter than that of the Lee, with only a couple
of people passed in over an hour
Paddle gear for controlling one of the many overflow weirs.
